Portraits of the pompous

All the glorious gowns, dresses, hats and jewelry in British period dramas inspired me to do a series on some crazy aristocratic Lords and Ladies. I posted these to Instagram together with a short text, which established their character, background and fleshed out the world they lived in: an over-the-top early modern England. The series was a lot of fun to draw and really invigorated me regarding my other work.
