Commemorating the Strike

Poster for the remembrance of the February strike 

The 25th of of February 2023 marked the one year anniversary of my online graphic novel about the February strike. For 2023's commemoration I was commissioned to design the poster.

With the De Dokwerker statue and the bold color scheme I refer to the red and yellow of the communist party. The initiators of the strike that stood up to the nazi regime where mostly communists. It is therefore not meant as a political statement, but a simple tribute to the people that inspired common men and women to defend those that were increasingly marginalized and oppressed.

Fighting for your own rights is admirable, but seeing injustice done to others and fighting for someone else's rights is truly something else.
